Exploring San Antonio's iconic landmarks in the lens of a vintage, giant amusement park.

I created a cover illustration for the San Antonio Current's annual city guide issue. The editor-in-chief, Sanford Nowlin, approached the concept looking at the city like a charming, retro amusement park: San Antonio Land. We chose several historic and scenic landmarks together, and I transformed them into classic park rides: a carousel featuring McNay Art Museum sculptures, Plaza Guadalupe as a decorative skydiver, and the River Walk as a log ride.

San Antonio's like a giant amusement park. We've got fun and excitement around ever corner, caloric but oh-so-delicious food to sample and folks in colorful costumes eager to show you around. Hell, there's even a river ride running through downtown.
