Hi! I'm Anna, and Art Director, (retired) artist, mom to the cutest toddler, astrology and woo enthusiast amongst other things. I was born in the Philippines and moved to Florida at the pivotal! age of 13 years old. I earned my BFA in Fine Arts in 2013, and I've been doing a plethora of creative things for work since then.
What have I been up to?
✶ From 2015 through 2020, I started a creative studio with my partner Adam Lavigne called Lemon Press. We made zines, comics, painted murals and held annual art exhibits—one of them at an American Folk Art Museum—Mennello Museum. Take a look at our paintings, they're very fun!
✶ In 2018, I was working at an advertising agency as a Visual Designer, developing brands and building visuals for clients like Orlando City Foundation and Downtown Orlando. I concepted and led the Art Direction for Downtown Orlando's refreshed branding campaign. I also drew a coloring map of the city for their newly redesigned information center (dream assignment for me, check).
✶ In 2020, I decided to go forth and do! my! own! thing! It was a rough and slow start, but I ended up making some of the best work that I'm proud of at the time. I made a lot of beautiful brand identities for small, local businesses from different industries ranging from health and fitness, personal wellness, museums, fine dining. I learned that one of the most important things about being a creative is believing in my clients' vision, and that integrity showed in the work.
✶ In 2022, I got a dream position as an illustrator for a creative agency's client: Spotify. For two years, I dreamed up different worlds in different genres of music. I honed in on Spotify's visual aesthetic to a tee. It was so cool for my work to be seen by all kinds of people around the world.
✶ Today, I'm a full-time Art Director at a global agency called DEPT. You'll find me deep in reading and re-reading briefs, chatting with Creative Directors about concepts and ideas, dreaming up things through moodboards, building pre-pro decks, and working with a bunch of creatives that come from different crafts. I love what I do, and I love the people I work with!
